Will take up matter of proposed solar plant to generate employment: Col Singh

Colonel (Retd.) Mahan Singh, Chair person of Kathua District Development Council, on Sunday held two back-to-back public meetings in Basohli tehsil of the district and listened to the various issues being faced by the locals.
Addressing the rallies which saw participation of a large number of people, Colonel Singh assured them that he will ensure that their grievances are resolved at the earliest.
Beginning his public outreach campaign, soon after taking over as Chairperson of Kathua District Development Council, Colonel Singh today held public meetings in Sialag, Bhiker, Sialoo, Bhood Panchyats of Sheetal Nagar Block in Basohli Tehsil, district Kathua.
A large number of people apprised Colonel Singh of the issues being faced by them over the years and sought his attention towards them in the meetings.
The problem flagged by people included resumption of construction of Chiglabag to Sailo-Bhiker road under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana which has been pending for over 8 years, construction of roads to adjoining unconnected Panchyats of Godal and Jaanu , construction of bridge over Chiril Nallha connecting Jeloo habitat of Bhiker. Shortage of drinking water and staff in high schools in both the Panchayats were also flagged by the people in their interaction with the Kathua District Development Council Chairperson.
Addressing the gatherings, Colonel Singh assured the people that he would take up all the matters with the relevant and concerned authorities and will personally see as to how their issues are resolved at the earliest.
“I and my team of councillors will work tirelessly to ensure that your issues are resolved on priority basis, and the development works are expedited,” he told the public. When the locals raised their concern over the rising unemployment among youth of the area, Colonel Singh said that he will take up the matter of a solar power plant proposed for the area and ensure that the process is expedited so that youth of the area get employment
Colonel Singh added that he will ask the administration to ensure that residents of these Panchayats get all the basic amenities and benefits of various Centrally-sponsored welfare schemes are reached to each and every eligible beneficiary of the area.
“We will work to the best of our abilities to ensure that all the grievances of all people are resolved at the earliest and their welfare is put on priority,” he added.
