Media Fraternity of J&K is working in very complex situation as compared to rest of country, thus walking on the razor’s edge for the past many years, facing pressures due to uncertainty.
With journalists, young reporters, press photographers, editors and media house are facing lot of difficulties while delivering their professional duties in J&K. Media houses in J&K is face to face with numerous problems in terms of publication of Newspapers and other related expenses.
Keeping in view the prevailing circumstances many associations across J&K were formed to overcome these problems faced by the media fraternity but failed to achieve any tangible results.
Keeping in view above mentioned facts, Jammu and Kashmir Editors Forum (JKEF) and Jammu Editors Guild (JEG) after a marathon meeting held at winter capital of J&K after Thread bare discussions, it was decided that need of hour is to have such a coordination among the media forums of JK which will work for betterment, upliftment and strengthen of newspapers of J&K. it was unanimously decided in the historical meeting that the J&K Newspapers forum (JKNF) came into existence.
Further, Forum will work for welfare of the journalist community as a whole with whole heartedly.
Before concluding the meeting with positive note, Mr Raj Daluja editor (State times) was elected Chairman for first term of the forum.
