Sandhya Gupta , a fashion designer by profession , has been running a fashion label by the name of ‘Appearances by designer Sandhya Gupta’ from past 25 years. After years of beautifying women , she has chosen to beautify our country as well. She is also founder of Women Club ‘ Meri Pehchaan ‘ is an active social worker, working towards women empowerment and poverty in J&K villages. Women Club ‘Meri Pehchaan’ (WCMP) strongly stands on the belief of making women self independent. WCMP recently opened a stitching institute in Ranjhan, a small village near Block-Bhalwal, Jammu by the name of WCMP STITCHING SCHOOL on 2nd June’19. The school is going to provide stitching lessons free of cost to young girls and women living in this village. The idea behind this school is to provide employment to women of the families below poverty line. WCMP encourages women to become self dependent so that they can help in improving financial health of their families.
The founder of WCMP, Sandhya Gupta also states that it is a duty of the government officials to look after the empowerment of tye poor, but due to their lacking in fulfilling their duties she has taken these steps herself for the betterment of society by putting in all her earnings from the fashion boutique she runs in the city of Jammu from past 25 years. She also requests PM Modi to handover the responsibility of the employment schemes for poor people to progressive and loyal government officials, as the people living in these villages are unaware of benefits of these schemes. WCMP has taken it upon its shoulders to open various stitching institutes and various other institutes in such backward areas of the state, so that women have a stronger approach towards getting employment and becoming self sufficient. WCMP has always come forward for the betterment of the society, especially women and will continue to do the selfless work for the poor people of the state.
