JAMMU, January 28:
The actual work to replace the old and dying Astroturf at K K Hakhu Stadium has finally started with construction agency officially taking over the site.
The old turf has been rolled back and old rusty water guns have been uprooted so as to pave way for the new Astroturf at Jammu’s only advance hockey playing facility.
It has been reliably learnt that the contractor, allotted with the work, has asked for a six months time to complete the work.
“The work has started and it will take some time to complete. So we are in the process of finalising the suitable options to accommodate the ever growing number of young hockey enthusiasts. We want the trainees to continue with their practice sessions,” said Divisional Sports Officer of the J&K Sports Council, Ashok Singh.
