To mark the 72nd Republic Day, J&K BJP Vice President Yudhvir Sethi accompanied by Priya Sethi, former Minister hoisted the National Flag at several places across the Jammu city.
Sethi unfurled the National Flags at more than sixteen places which include Shallamar, Hari Market, Bus Stand, Jewel Chowk, Chand Nagar, Gummat, Bawe Wali Gali, Daal Wali Gali, Kachi Chawni, Pacca Danga, Bikram Chowk, Kali Janni, Paharian Mohalla, Shaeedi Chowk and other places amid strict adherence to the SOPs laid down in the wake of Covid-19.
Sethi addressed the gathering at several places and congratulated the people of J&K on the 72nd Republic Day. He remembered the immortal martyrs who sacrificed their lives to make Mother India independent. He asserted that 72nd Republic Day is of great significance for the residents of J&K, after the abrogation of Articles 370 & 35A of Constitution of India there is only one National Flag that is Tricolor recognized and there is no other flag as were the past practice in the erstwhile State of J&K.
Sethi highlighted the achievements made by the government in outreaching the people during the lock down period imposed due to spreading Corona virus and there by redressing their grievances at their door steps.
He also lauded the efforts of security forces and health front-line workers who worked unitedly day and night in the fight against the COVID-19.
Sethi also appreciated the efforts of party workers for making their best efforts for the successful conduct of Republic Day celebrations.
The former minister Priya Sethi appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to maintain peace, brotherhood and mutual trust which are prerequisite for the better development of the Union Territory. She also urged the people to work with togetherness for promoting national integration and communal harmony across the Jammu and Kashmir.
