To observe the World Earth day a programme was organised in Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu today.
Niraj Kumar IAS Director Indian Systems of Medicine J&K was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion he said that World Earth Day. World Earth Day is used to celebrate on this day by the people in the World. It is celebrated by encouraging the people to save the Earth by providing them with every knowledge about the security of the Environment and to provide them ideas and plans to protect the Environment.
He further added that Earth Day, observed this year is significant because it’s a day of civic participation towards preserving the planet earth. He said that Earth Day 2018 theme is ‘End Plastic Pollution’ and taking initiative he declared premises of Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu as the polythene free premises and further declared it No Smoking zone.
Niraj Kumar initiated plantation drive by planting sapling of Putra Jivak in the premises. He also planted the saplings of medicinal plants such as Arjun, Bilv, Karanj, Amla etc.
Present amoung others include Dr. Taran Singh Medical Superintendent Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Raina OSD Directorate of ISM,Dr. Saroj Sharma ADMO Jammu, Dr. Sujata Sathu Asst. Director ISM, Dr. Narinder Sharma Nodal Officer GAMC,Jammu , Dr. Aditi Sher, Dr. Ajay Ticku, Dr. Deepa Kachru, Dr. Aruna Bhat,the staff of GAH , doctors from GAMC and non gazetted employees from district Jammu.
