World Health Day run held at Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Apr 08:
Jammu and Kashmirf Mountain Biking Association (JKMBA) and Discover Kashmir Magazine organised World Health Day Run at the Summer capital to spread the message of fitness and healthy life among young men and women.
Starting from JLNM Hospital, the Run culminated at Shankaracharya Top after touching Khanyar, Dalgate and Nehru Park. Earlier, the event flagged-off by president LOC Trade, Hilal Ahmad Turkey. The theme of the run was “Health for All”. More than 60 athletes, riders and swimmers took part in the event including Ultra Marathon runner, Hamid Aziz, international adventure Racer, Umer Nabi, Muneer Dar, Sahil Shakeel, Yasir Makhdoomi and Adil Saleem of J&K Bank, Ubaid Shah and Zahid Iqbal.
After reaching Shankaracharaya Top, a short award ceremony held. The LOC Trade president Hilal Ahmad Turkey, Dr Shuja Bashir, Dr Sheikh Tariq, Mushtaq Wani, Sajad Kralyari,
(Cycling Association), Mushtaq Bhat, Riyaz Wani, AR Bhat and 87 year old veteran athlete, Ghulam Rasool Bhat were among those present.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shuja Bashir laid stress on various aspects of health and importance of healthy life. He said that the World Health Day focuses on promoting healthy living habits among the people. JKMBA vice presidents, Rouf Tramboo and Bashir Damna hailed the athletes for their participation.
