JAMMU, Jan 22:
Comprised of young boys and girls, a strong contingent of 44 players left for participation in the 18th Sub – Junior National Wushu Championship that stated today at Lovely Professional University Jalandhar (Punjab) under the banner of J&K Wushu Association.
The 44-member team comprised 39 players, two coaches and as many managers. Athletes were flagged off by Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Dr Naseem Chowdhary in the presence of office bearers of the J&K Wushu Association.
The championship is being organised by the Punjab wushu Association under the aegis of Wushu Association of India. Among others present ere Abdul Qayoom (CSO), Ravi Singh (DSO), Ashok Singh (Manager) and Satish Gupta (Manager), who were also part of the team that conducted the screening.
Among the Association office bearers present were Yogesh Sawhney (patron), Vijay Saraf (president) Sunil Sharma (treasurer) Sohit Sharma (associate secretary) and Kuldeep Handoo (CEO).
Meanwhile, Vijay Saraf thanked the Secretary JKSSC for encouraging the players.
