New Delhi, April 28 : Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Jain announced the coming of a new smartphone. By what he says it is going to be a powerful Xiaomi smartphone. Jain confirms that the upcoming smartphone will come with the latest Snapdragon 700 series chipset. He says that the new Xiaomi phone will have the chipset that is announced just two weeks ago. This hints at a Snapdragon 730 powered Xiaomi phone.
Although Jain didn’t reveal the name of the phone, we at India Today Tech believe it to be the Mi A3 – the successor to the Mi A2. In the announcement post Jain notes, “Great meeting Rajen @rajen_vagadia & Kedar from #Qualcomm. @Xiaomi & @Qualcomm have always worked together to bring the latest & the best! Breaking news: A new #Xiaomi phone with latest #Snapdragon 7_ _ (announced just 2 weeks ago) is coming to India very soon! Any guesses?”
The post reveals that it is a Xiaomi phone. In India, the only Xiaomi lineup that is available in India is the Mi A series. This means Xiaomi is all set to launch the Mi A2 successor in India, which most likely be called the Mi A3. As of now, there’s no other information available about the Mi A3. Do note, that similar to the previous generation Mi A1 and Mi A2, the Mi A3 will also be an Android One phone. The Mi A2 is still one of the best phones one can grab under Rs 20,000 price bracket. The same amount of success is expected from the upcoming Mi A3 – which we believe will be a big upgrade over the Mi A2. To recall the specs, the Mi A2 Android One phone comes packed with a 5.99-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 2160x1080p.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The camera is the best thing about Mi A2.
On the front, the phone includes a 20-megapixel camera for clicking selfies. The selfie camera also comes paired with a soft LED flash. On the rear panel, the Mi A2 includes a primary 12-megapixel Sony IMX 486 sensor and secondary 20-megapixel Sony IMX 376 sensor. TThe smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 technology.
