jammu, May 16:
Youth Congress workers intensified relief work amidst the pandemic by distributing food packets among the attendants of the patients at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, on the second consecutive day.
Led by Ricky Dalotra, JKPYC General Secretary, the Youth Congress workers, on the directions of Uday Chib, President J&KPYC, distributed food packets as a part of providing relief to Covid affected people.
Lamenting the lack of government planning in managing the current outbreak, Dalotra said: “Most people are not dying because of Covid; they are dying due to lack of healthcare facilities.”
Dalotra urged the Narendra Modi government to pay heed to the advice of experts who are warning of a third wave, and address issues of availability of beds, ventilators, oxygen, medicines, etc. in advance. “We lost about eight months between the first wave and the second; this cannot happen again. There needs to be more planning,” he said, adding that he was shaken by the stories of misery and death over the last few weeks.
Uday Bhanu Chib, President JKPYC, appreciated the efforts of Youth Congress leaders in providing all possible help to the people in distress. He said that Youth Congress is always available to the people in the hour of crisis. He asked the people who are in need of any type of help they should approach the Youth Congress as the cadre is working day and night in the service of mankind.
