Every year the Nation Celebrates Armed Forces Flag Day with pride and appreciation for our Armed Forces on Dec. Celebrations of Flag Day was started by Deptt of Sainik Welfare in(J&K), two year back with an aim to provide opportunity to our citizens to interact closely withour soldiers,ESM and Shaeed Parivars and thank them for their commitment and services rendered for the country. Hon’ble Governor (J&K) is president of Rajya Sainik Board (J&K). As per his vision, this year onwards a programme was chalked out to include more number of citizens in various programmes related to patriotic themes, during celebrations of Flag Day programme. A blue print was made by Sainik Welfare Deptt for celebration of Flag Day in Dec 2018, with active support of Education Deptt and JK Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages (JKAACL). There are close to 7 lakh children in Jammu Division. In Stage 1, by Oct 2018, 24 teams will be selected by Education Deptt for participation in stage 2, from a cluster of eight groups. In Stage 2, 27 teams will participate in Nov 2018 under JKAACL for final selections of six teams for Stage 3. In final Stage 3, six teams will partipate on Flag Day (Dec 2018) in a programme organized at Abhinav theatre where Hon’ble Governor will be the Chief Guest. All competitions will be based on recital of patriotic songs, judged by accomplished judges. Winners of each stage will be given incentives.
Director Rajya Sainik Board Brig Harcharan Singh briefed the media, along with Asst Secy Mr Arvinder Singh Amn of JKAACL and Sh Rajiv Kumar Khajuria, Personel Officer from the office of Director School Education (Jammu).
Director RSB informed that in addition, Education Deptt will depute school children to visit houses of Martyrs and also War decorated soldiers, which will be followed by an Essay Competition.
Winner of these competitions will also be given incentives
Director RSB also apprised about the contribution of NGOs and individuals of the society, who would celebrate Flag Day in a unique manner, i.e by adopting Shaheed Parivars, visiting houses of Shaheed Parivars, by contributing financial help to run welfare schemes for ESM or by supporting Non pensioners widows.
Speaking on the occasion Addl Secy Mr Arvinder Singh Amn (JKAACL) and Sh Rajiv Kumar Khajuria assured all the help and support for the celebrations of Armed Forces Flag Day. Director RSB thanked all the partipants who are contributing for this noble cause.
