Leh : The Leh unit of BJP today launched a massive membership drive in in connection with birth Anniversary of Dr. Shama Prasad Mukherjee today at Leh.
Led by BJP General Secretary & Incharge Ladakh Yudhvir Sethi and CEC Gayl. P Wangail along with EC Phuntsog Stanzin, Tsering Sangrup, Konchok Stanzin, Muaz Hussain District president BJP Leh Dorjay Angchuk,Councilor Mahila Morcha Dr. Yangchan Yuva Morcha Lobzang,
Incharge and Co-Incharge of membership drive Skalzang and Sangrup the membership drive started with a massive participation from all walks of life.
Describing Dr Shamya Prasad Mukherjee as visionary leader and statesman, Yudhvir said that he laid down his life for the integration of J & K state with India and he launched a campaign to end the permit system and for that he laid down the life for the cause.
Sethi added that the victory of parliamentary Seat from Ladakh itself speaks of the confidence of people of Ladakh in the progress and policies of BJP.
He said all those who voted for BJP will now be converted into party membership .
Wangail said that people of Ladakh are very progressive but were also ignored by Congress and regional parties but the BJP is committed for development of Ladakh region which is why the regional status is given to the region and even post a sanctioned about 500 to ensure that administrations unit function properly.
Dorjee Distt President Leh said that more than 2500 membership received on the first day of membership Drive. He assured that large participation is expected in this drive within days to for strengthening the party and we are ready as a party for the coming assembly and hill council elections.
He appreciates all the Mandal Presidents and councilors for their hard work.
