The Yuva Rajput Sabha- a non-politicaloutfit on Monday staged a protestin support of aspirants for the post of Naib Tehsildar who are opposing Urdulanguage as mandatory to appear in the examination. The Sabha also lent supportto the outstanding athletes who are fighting for jobs under the SRO in thegovernment sectors.Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to include Urdu as a compulsorysubject in the recently notified Naib Tehsildar recruitment 2025.Shouting slogans, the members of Yuva Rajput Sabha led by its president VikramSingh joined by the Naib Tehsildar recruitment aspirants and outstanding sportspersons this morning staged protest and blocked one of the busiest River Tawibridge connecting North and South Jammu.Holding placards, the Yuva Rajput Sabha leaders staged a sit-in at MaharajaHari Singh statue on the bridge demanding justice for the aspirants.They lashed out at the Jammu and Kashmir government alleging that suchdecisions are not in the interest of the youth.“We are not against the Urdu language but it should not be mandatory for thecandidates appearing in the examination because languages like Hindi, English,Sanskrit and Kashmiri are also included as official languages in thegovernment,” said the leaders.The official languages of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir areKashmiri, Dogri, Urdu, Hindi, and English and are designated for use in allofficial purposes of the Union Territory, as per the Jammu and Kashmir OfficialLanguages Act, 2020, they added.
The protesting Yuva Rajput Sabha leaders however, also supported the concern ofoutstanding sports persons of Jammu and Kashmir waiting for the release of theselection list under SO 12.“Today it is International Olympic Day but our athletes are observing it as a‘Black Day’ because the outstanding sports persons already named in theprovisional select list under SO 12, are still waiting for the release of thefinal list,” they said adding that more than 200 athletes are to be absorbed inthe government departments under Sports Policy but till date nothing has beendone.Terming the decisions anti-Jammu and biased, the Yuva Rajput Sabha has demandedjustice for these aspirants.
