Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Northern Command and reviewed its operational preparedness, capability development and ongoing modernisation initiatives, reaffirming the Indian Army’s focus on maintaining combat readiness amid an evolving security environment.
During the visit, General Dwivedi was briefed on the Command’s conduct of Multi-Domain Operations, technology absorption efforts, infrastructure development and integrated combat readiness across the full spectrum of military operations.
The Army Chief also interacted with officers of the Northern Command Headquarters and various Formation Headquarters through a hybrid format. During the interaction, he underscored the importance of leveraging emerging technologies and fostering innovation to enhance operational effectiveness in the face of increasingly dynamic and complex security challenges.
Emphasising the need for continuous adaptation and capability enhancement, General Dwivedi highlighted the role of technological advancements in strengthening the Army’s operational edge and ensuring preparedness for future conflicts.
The review covered key aspects of force modernisation, infrastructure augmentation and the integration of advanced technologies into operational planning and execution, reflecting the Army’s ongoing efforts to transform itself into a future-ready force.
Commending all ranks for their professionalism and dedication, the Army Chief lauded their unwavering commitment to duty and operational excellence. He appreciated the sustained efforts of troops and commanders in maintaining a high state of combat readiness and vigilance in one of the country’s most strategically significant operational theatres.
The visit forms part of the Army leadership’s continued engagement with field formations to assess preparedness levels, monitor capability development and reinforce operational effectiveness across the Northern Command’s area of responsibility.
