UDHAMPUR, OCT 29:
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Ananth Dwivedi today convened a meeting with officers of the line departments to review preparations and activity plan for observing the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas-2026 in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan; Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh and other officers.
The departments were asked to formulate respective plans of activities focusing on the themes of unity, integrity and fraternity. It was informed that the activities would start with the Run for Unity with active participation of line departments, civil society members, students and volunteers. Debates, symposiums and other awareness activities would be held in the Schools and Colleges to promote the spirit of national unity, integrity and solidarity. The Police Department was tasked to undertake Information, Education and Communication activities. The heads of the departments were instructed to ensure active participation of respective staff in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations.
Additionally, stakeholder departments were asked to make available drinking water, first aid and other amenities at the venues of activities and along the ‘Run for Unity’ route.
The DC directed the departments to make all necessary arrangements well in advance to ensure the smooth, orderly and successful conduct of the programmes across the district.
