District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a review meeting to assess progress of key education initiatives and infrastructure projects being implemented across the district.
The meeting reviewed the status of Samagra Shiksha works, financial progress, Aadhaar verification, APAAR ID generation, PM POSHAN, school infrastructure and other flagship programmes.
Reviewing Samagra Shiksha works, the DDC directed officers concerned to expedite completion of pending infrastructure projects and resolve issues related to land availability, tendering and other bottlenecks in a time-bound manner.
He instructed the Chief Planning Officer, Reasi, to constitute a team for a comprehensive review of all Samagra Shiksha works pending from 2019-20 to 2022-23 and submit the report within a week.
The Education Department was directed to achieve 100 per cent Aadhaar verification and APAAR generation for all eligible students at the earliest, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) to continue special registration camps for students whose verification is pending, and the Chief Education Officer to convene a meeting with private school representatives to expedite the Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) of students’ Aadhaar records.
The meeting also reviewed implementation of the PM POSHAN Scheme, including availability of food grains, cooking costs, nutritional gardens and health check-ups of school children. Taking stock of school infrastructure, the DDC reviewed toilet facilities, installation of solar panels and expansion of vocational education in government schools.
Among those present were Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B), Chief Education Officer, Zonal Education Officers and other officers concerned.
