As part of Army Day celebrations, the Indian Army organised Saanjh ki Garima – Honouring Our Senior Citizens at Neelam, with the aim of acknowledging the wisdom, resilience and quiet contributions of the local community.
The event witnessed meaningful interaction between Army personnel and villagers, during which their concerns were patiently heard and addressed with empathy and respect.
Special attention was extended to senior citizens, widows and children, reflecting the Army’s deep-rooted values of compassion, dignity and inclusive care. As a gesture of goodwill and shared responsibility, blankets and clothing were distributed to those in attendance.
The initiative reaffirmed the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to the welfare of communities in remote and sensitive areas, reinforcing bonds of trust and mutual respect.
Through such outreach activities, the Army continues to serve the nation not only by safeguarding its frontiers, but also by standing shoulder to shoulder with its people.
