JAMMU, Oct 11:
BJP Vice President and former Minister Priya Sethi attended a programme organised by the SS Jain Sabha as the chief guest, where she highlighted the importance of Jain philosophy, spiritual values and community service in strengthening society.
Addressing the gathering, Priya Sethi appreciated the efforts of the SS Jain Sabha in promoting religious harmony, social welfare and the teachings of Jainism. She emphasised that the principles of non-violence, truth, compassion and mutual respect remain highly relevant in today’s world.
“Jainism teaches us the path of peace, tolerance, compassion and respect for every living being. These timeless values can guide society towards harmony and help build a more peaceful and inclusive nation,” Priya Sethi said.
She further stressed that religious and cultural organisations play an important role in preserving India’s rich spiritual heritage and passing its traditions on to younger generations. Such programmes, she said, provide an opportunity for people to come together, strengthen community bonds and encourage greater understanding among different sections of society.
Priya Sethi also appreciated the contribution of the Jain community in promoting charitable activities, social service and humanitarian values. She called upon people to follow the teachings of great spiritual leaders in their daily lives and work collectively for the welfare of society. The programme was organised by the SS Jain Sabha and witnessed the participation of members of the Jain community and other dignitaries.
Sunil Jain, President (Adhyaksh) of the SS Jain Sabha, and Neelam Jain, President of the Nari Stri Shakti organisation, were among those present on the occasion.
The gathering reflected the community’s commitment to promoting spiritual awareness, social responsibility and the preservation of religious traditions.
The organisers emphasised the importance of continuing such initiatives to inspire people, particularly the youth, to embrace ethical values and contribute positively to society.
