Students of the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) programme of Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR), Jammu, visited the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Jammu, on September 9, 2026, for an academic exposure programme on Panchakarma.
During the visit, the students were introduced to the practical aspects of Panchakarma procedures, including patient assessment, treatment planning, pre-procedural measures, therapeutic procedures, and post-procedural care.
The exposure provided an opportunity for the students to correlate their classroom learning with clinical practices in a research-oriented institutional setting. The visiting students were also acquainted with the role of standard operating procedures, patient safety, hygiene, documentation, and ethical clinical practice in the delivery of Panchakarma therapies.
Faculty members and experts at RARI Jammu interacted with the students and highlighted the importance of scientific validation, quality care, and evidence-based research in Ayurveda.
The programme was appreciated by the students as a valuable learning experience that strengthened their understanding of Panchakarma and its clinical application. RARI Jammu is a peripheral institute of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
