Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today organized an Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive at the Municipal Animal Care Centre, Roop Nagar, as part of its ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of rabies and promote responsible animal care in Jammu city. The programme was conducted in the presence of Animal Welfare Officer Dr. Gaurav Chaudhary and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Dr. Divya Sharma. During the drive, more than 50 dogs were successfully vaccinated against rabies. The vaccination campaign will continue for the next two days. JMC has appealed to the city residents to cooperate with the staff in anti-rabies vaccination of stray dogs. The Corporation, in collaboration with the Health Department, is committed to strengthening measures for rabies prevention and working towards a rabies-free Jammu. JMC emphasized that active public participation is essential for effective control of rabies and urged citizens to come forward and support the initiative. Through coordinated efforts of the civic body, Health Department and the public, JMC aims to ensure a safer, healthier and more compassionate environment for both citizens and animals.
