Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin on Tuesday chaired a meeting of BJP MLAs, MPs, former legislators and senior party leaders at the party office in Jammu to review organisational matters and discuss the party’s strategy in the Union Territory.
As part of his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Nabin also paid floral tributes to Praja Parishad and Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader late Prem Nath Dogra at his statue in Jammu. He later interacted with BJP workers, including representatives from the Gujjar and Bakerwal communities, and held discussions on organisational outreach and public issues.
Earlier in the day, Nabin visited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Jammu along with BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh. The visit coincided with the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mukherjee.

“It’s a moment of good fortune for me that I’ve had the opportunity to visit Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Syama Prasad Mukherjee ji. This visit was for a scheduled program, and during this visit, we met with our people and reviewed organisational matters,” he said.
He said discussions focused on strengthening the party organisation and ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Nabin also asserted that the abrogation of Article 370 had transformed Jammu and Kashmir and integrated it more closely with the rest of the country.
“As an opposition party here, our MLAs and workers will remain fully alert and continue to raise public issues. We know that after much effort and struggle, we have fully freed Jammu and Kashmir from Article 370, which has become a significant indicator of change in the lives of the people here,” he said.
The BJP leader said the region was witnessing progress in development, tourism, women’s empowerment and preservation of its cultural heritage, adding that the party remained committed to strengthening the people of Jammu and Kashmir through organisational work as well as the Central government’s development initiatives.BJP National President Sh Nitin Nabin, accompanied by BJP National General Secretary, Rajya Sabha MP and J&K Prabhari Tarun Chugh, J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma CA, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, MLA Yudhvir Sethi and other senior BJP leaders, paid floral tributes to the legendary nationalist leader and Praja Parishad founder, Sher-e-Duggar Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Ji, at his statue at Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Chowk, Jammu.
Nitin Nabin described Pt. Prem Nath Dogra him as one of the tallest architects of nationalist politics in the region. He remembered the immense contribution of Dogra ji to the cause of national unity and the complete integration of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of India. He said that Dogra ji’s sacrifices continue to inspire generations of BJP workers said that Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee devoted his entire life to safeguarding the unity, integrity and sovereignty of India. He said Dogra ji along with Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee ji led the struggle for “Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan”, which became the ideological foundation of the movement that ultimately culminated in the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The people of Jammu & Kashmir have now attained the true benefits of constitutional equality, democratic empowerment and accelerated development, fulfilling the vision of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee,” said Nabin.
Tarun Chugh said that the BJP draws its strength from the sacrifices of nationalist icons like Pt. Prem Nath Dogra, who fearlessly opposed separatist politics and worked tirelessly for complete national integration. He said that today’s stronger, peaceful and development-oriented Jammu & Kashmir stands as a tribute to those visionary leaders who never compromised on the nation’s unity.
Sat Sharma said that every BJP worker in J&K considers Pt. Prem Nath Dogra an eternal source of inspiration. He added that the organization remains committed to carrying forward his ideals by strengthening the party at the grassroots while serving every section of society with dedication and nationalism.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the constitutional changes made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi have given practical shape to the aspirations for which Pt. Prem Nath Dogra dedicated his life, ushering in an era of equal rights, equal opportunities and unprecedented development for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
