Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, Science & Technology, and Transport, Satish Sharma, today warmly received the pilgrims of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026) at the Baltal Base Camp and extended his heartfelt greetings to the devotees embarking on the revered annual pilgrimage.Interacting with the pilgrims, the Minister enquired about their travel experience and wished them a safe, peaceful and spiritually enriching journey to the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji.
He expressed hope that the pilgrimage would bring peace, prosperity and well-being to the devotees and the entire nation.
During his visit, Satish Sharma undertook a comprehensive review of the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the Yatra. He inspected facilities related to transportation, accommodation, healthcare, sanitation, drinking water, food supplies, security and emergency response, while taking stock of the preparedness of the concerned departments.The Minister appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Civil Administration, Security Forces, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, Health Department, Transport Department and other line departments for working in close coordination to ensure the safety, comfort and convenience of the pilgrims.
He said that the successful conduct of the Yatra reflects the collective commitment and tireless efforts of all stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, Satish Sharma said that the Jammu & Kashmir Government is fully committed to ensuring that every pilgrim is provided with safe, efficient and hassle-free services throughout the Yatra. He emphasized that the government has mobilized all necessary resources to facilitate a smooth pilgrimage experience.
The Minister urged all departments and field functionaries to maintain the highest level of alertness, coordination and responsiveness so that any issue arising during the pilgrimage is addressed pro mptly.
He stressed that uninterrupted coordination among all agencies is essential for the successful and peaceful conduct of SANJY-2026.
Reiterating the government’s commitment towards the annual pilgrimage, Satish Sharma said that every possible effort is being made to ensure that devotees undertake the sacred journey with confidence, comfort and a sense of security.
