Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday went jogging along the streets of Bishnah, a border village near Jammu, garnering much public attention and inspiring enthusiasm among locals.The move was widely seen as a message against the drug menace, and comes within a fortnight of the chief minister’s participation in the Jammu Half Marathon.
The sight of Omar Abdullah dressed in sportswear and flanked by his security team running along the Jammu airport road during the early hours elicited positive reactions among onlookers who took to social media to express excitement.His unannounced run through the locality created a buzz, with people stepping out of their homes to catch a glimpse. Several residents were seen taking photos and recording videos on their mobile phones as Abdullah passed through Bishna before moving to K C Morh along the Jammu airport road.The morning run quickly became a talking point in the area, with locals appreciating the gesture and many expressing motivation to incorporate fitness activities into their daily routine. “Message to all of us: let’s prioritise health and fitness by incorporating activities like morning runs into our daily routine. Good health matters, and it makes a difference to our overall well-being and productivity,” a social media user posted after watching a video of the chief minister on Facebook. Another user said it was remarkable to see the chief minister running down the roads, describing him as a source of inspiration. Many social media users praised Abdullah’s fitness, commending his active lifestyle and describing his morning run as both motivating and exemplary.
