District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a meeting of the District Level Co-ordination-cum-Implementation Committee to review the progress of ongoing heritage conservation projects undertaken by the Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums in the district.
The Committee held a detailed review of the repair, renovation and restoration of key heritage sites, including Bhimgarh Fort and Dera Baba Shrine, besides other heritage conservation initiatives.
The Committee also reviewed newly proposed projects, particularly the Conservation, Revival and Restoration of the Heritage Building at Chanena Devta in Salal.
The District Development Commissioner directed the concerned officers to maintain close coordination with all stakeholders, ensure timely resolution of issues and adhere strictly to prescribed technical and conservation standards. He emphasized that heritage conse rvation works must be undertaken with due care to safeguard the historical, architectural and cultural significance of these important sites.
Additional District Development Commissioner Krishan Lal; Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar; Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar; Deputy Director, Archives, Archaeology and Museums, Jammu; Executive Engineer, Public Works Department and other concerned officers were present.
