With the objective of promoting entrepreneurship and generating sustainable self-employment opportunities for local youth, a meeting of the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) under the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) was convened today at the DC Office Complex, Samba.
The meeting was held under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan and presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Champa Devi.
At the outset, District Officer KVIB Vinod Kumar briefed the Committee regarding the targets under the scheme and the applications received. The meeting was attended by the Lead District Manager, SBI, Cluster Heads and Regional Head of J&K Bank and J&K Grameen Bank, besides other concerned officers. The Committee held direct interaction with the applicants and undertook a detailed appraisal of their proposed projects, assessing technical feasibility, financial viability and potential for sustainability in the local market.
The Committee scrutinized a total of 32 applications, out of which 24 cases were approved for financial assistance, while 08 applicants remained absent.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC emphasized that timely financial assistance is crucial for the successful implementation of government-sponsored self-employment initiatives. She directed the representatives of the participating financial institutions to remove procedural bottlenecks and strictly adhere to the prescribed timelines for sanctioning and disbursing loans to the approved beneficiaries.
The ADDC further stressed the need for coordinated efforts among the implementing agencies and banks to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive timely support and are able to establish their proposed enterprises at the earliest.
