World Physiotherapy Day: JCP Concludes Week-Long Celebrations with Community Camps and Expert Webinar

Jammu College of Physiotherapy (JCP) culminated its World Physiotherapy Week celebrations on 8 September 2026 with a series of events marking World Physiotherapy Day. The day featured community outreach, school-based screening, and an expert-led webinar aimed at students, faculty, and the wider public.
A physiotherapy awareness and screening camp was organized for the students and faculty of Government Higher Secondary School, Paloura, where basic musculoskeletal and posture-related issues were screened and guidance on injury prevention and healthy movement habits was provided. In parallel, another physiotherapy awareness program was conducted at JIAR, focusing on the role of physiotherapy in everyday health, common lifestyle-related problems, and the importance of early intervention.
Webinar on ergonomics and posture
To upgrade the knowledge of its faculty and students, JCP also organized a webinar on “Ergonomics and Posture”, conducted by Dr Nitin Dhar from Gurugram. The session highlighted practical strategies for maintaining correct posture during study, work, and device use, along with ergonomic modifications to reduce the risk of neck, back, and joint pain.Later
in his address, the Principal of Jammu College of Physiotherapy emphasized the need for such programs to enhance awareness among the general public regarding physiotherapy and its importance in maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. He noted that community- and school-based initiatives play a crucial role in translating physiotherapy knowledge into real-world health benefits.
Dr Singh expressed his gratitude to Mr Rajesh Bargotra, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Paloura, and Dr Nitin Mahajan, Principal, JIAR, for providing the opportunity to hold awareness programs in their institutions. He also thanked Dr Nitin Dhar for conducting the informative webinar, and extended his appreciation to the organising committee and college management, especially Chairperson Suman Sharma, for their continuous support and encouragement in organizing these events.
